چکیده

Subjective uncertainty is one of the most essential subjects for evaluation that was the reason Fuzzy theory was proposed. Related research areas are widely spread such as decision making, data analysis, information retrieval, psychology, and human computer interaction and so on. As a basis for various researches mathematical interpretation of evaluation methods occupies an important position. In Possibility theory, possibility and necessity evaluations have been utilized as ways for evaluating a vague achievement in an ambiguous situation. However, mathematical interpretations for these evaluations have been insufficient. In this article, possibility and necessity evaluations are examined based on the ordinal comparability in social choice theory. Equivalent conditions to the evaluations are deduced so that axiomatic interpretations for the evaluations become possible, and order relations related to the two evaluations are deduced. Keywords— evaluation, measure, necessity, ordinal comparability, ordinal utility, possibility.

Necessity-Based Choquet Integrals for Sequential Decision Making under Uncertainty

Possibilistic decision theory is a natural one to consider when information about uncertainty cannot be quantified in probabilistic way. Different qualitative criteria based on possibility theory have been proposed, the definition of which requires a finite ordinal, non compensatory, scale for evaluating both utility and plausibility. In presence of heterogeneous information, i.e. when the know...

Management of Subjective Evaluations Represented by Ordinal Scales

Common statistical methods, like arithmetic average, are, in principle, not adequate for ordinal scale evaluations, but in practice are frequently used. Specific methods are necessary, more complicated and with limits due to coarse resolution. This paper indicates some ways for overcoming resolution problems, allowing to compare specific and common analysis results. Thereafter it was possible t...

Ordinal and absolute representations of positive information in possibilistic logic

There are two readings of a possibility distribution, a representation format which is useful for encoding uncertain knowledge or preferences. The negative information reading, based on possibility and necessity measures, emphasizes the fact that some interpretations are impossible, or at least have an upper-bounded possibility level. The positive information reading points out that possibility...

New phase II control chart for monitoring ordinal contingency table based processes

In some statistical process monitoring applications, quality of a process or product is described by more than one ordinal factors called ordinal multivariate process. To show the relationship between these factors, an ordinal contingency table is used and modeled with ordinal log-linear model. In this paper, a new control charts based on ordinal-normal statistic is developed to monitor the ord...
